For New Bikes for Kids Donations, we will use up to 95% of allocated funds for purchase and distributions of brand new bicycles for needy children. Funds are generated through fund raising, donations, and sale of merchandise.
Our program works like this:
- Using our website, a child is nominated to receive a new bike, anyone can do it and do anonymously. Once the information is received, we store it until funds are available to purchase a new bike for that particular child. The bicycle is then packaged, shipped and delivered to that nominated child.
- Bicycles are purchased either one at a time or in bulk. Whichever will provide the best use of allocated funds.
- Donations in the amount of say $1,000.00 will then allow us to purchase a large quantity of bicycles and get more for our money, this will then allow us to ship 20-25 bicycles at a time.
- Donations in the amount of $5.00 are great but will take time to build up required funds to continue our work.
- As our website states, we need two things, donations and children who need bikes. We will work diligently to harmonize these two critical pieces of our mission to provide a continuous resource for children in need.
As our list of recipients grows, we expect our list to always exceed available funds. There for, bicycles will be purchased and distributed as funds become available. If you would like to nominate a child for a new bike and make a donation, please go ahead, your donation today will be used for children already in our queue who have previously been nominated for a new bike. Our goal is to accommodate all children who need and deserve a new bike. But please understand, we rely 100% on donations right now. Our goal is to meet our projected goal of $15,000.00 for the 2009 calendar year. This will in-turn provide up to 300 bicycles to needy kids. Thank you so much for your support! Donations may be made in the name of New bikes for kids and the site will acknowledge the donation on its list of contributors.
Donations to New bikes for kids are fully tax deductible.
